Akon to be Keynote Speaker at Binance “Off the Charts” Virtual Conference

Pop singer turned crypto entrepreneur Akon is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Binance “Off the Charts” Virtual Conference scheduled for July 14, 2020. Akon recently launched Akoin Coin, a cryptocurrency which will be the official currency for the Akon City, a 22,000 acre development block he acquired in Senegal from the government.

Akon is one of the most popular singers of the 21st century and has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, etc. Though he invested in Bitcoin way back in 2014, his interest in crypto grew only after he was unable to use CFA Franc since he was denied exchange in Paris. He decided that they need to have their own usable currency. To accomplish his goal, Akon created Akoin Coin, along with Jon Karas (President), and Lynn Liss (COO).

He will be the keynote speaker at Binance’s scheduled event on July 14, which is expected to be attended by community members from across the globe. Also, since Binance turns three this July, bringing such a powerful personality to speak on crypto seems to be a perfect way to celebrate the event. Akon is one of the pioneers of the crypto industry in Africa, and likewise, Binance, too, has a significant presence in the region.

The “Off the Charts” virtual conference will feature five distinct segments, with special emphasis on specific regions including Asia-Pacific, Europe & the UK, Russia & CIS, North America & LATAM, and Africa & Middle East. Apart from Akon, other speakers include Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, Oleksandr Bornyakov from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, WazirX CEO Nischal Shetty, Morgan Creek Digital founder Anthony Pompliano, etc.
